Sony Electronics want's you spending thousands and thousands of dollars on a Sony TV, speakers and Bluray player. Sony Pictures wants you to plunk down $12+ every time you sit down for a movie in a theatre, neither of those corporate entities want you strapping a a couple hundred dollar headset to your face and putting on some good stereo headphones, that you bought for your PS4 and getting an experience that is better than what they are selling.

I can not stress this enough but again, 60fps + 1080p oled will be good enough for the avarage joe.
I agree pc`s are more flexible and more customizable, that is a nichemarket we are talking about here though and it`s more about visuals/performance than actual gameplay.

And we can't stress enough that even an older smartphone can output a game at 60fps @ 1080p. By itself, res@fps is meaningless.
It's already been stated, the PS4 has barely any titles capable of running 60fps@1080p. Throw in VR overhead and we can expect games to look like typical PS3 games on Morpheus...but mostly just the 60fps titles, heavy PS3 games like uncharted would probably have to be turned down.
That doesn't mean games will be bad, I have no doubts that Morpheus will be successful, but you have to accept that Morpheus is the Wii of the VR race. Games will have to be specifically designed around the lesser hardware, and we will have to decide if a few good IP's make up for inferior visuals when putting down the money.I agree pc`s are more flexible and more customizable, that is a nichemarket we are talking about here though and it`s more about visuals/performance than actual gameplay.
Ok, now this just seems like troll bait, but just in case, are you fricken' kidding? You do realize Battlefield 2 sold more copies than every uncharted game combined right? Yes, console games are profitable, but no one in the industry considers PC's a "niche market".
Second, everyone rails on consoles for shitty "AAA" titles with shit gameplay. I dont, but the general consensus is if you want great game play, you drop your gamepad FPS's and Gears of War clones, grab a steam account and go indie. PS4 is an OK runner up, with journey and dragons crown, but hands down the PC dominates in the "superior game-play without AAA graphics" department. Saying "Consoles have the best gameplay" is like saying "Halo invented FPS". Its a joke statement PC gamers use to make fun of ignorant console gamers.
Note, I love my consoles, I use them all, but keep the misinformation out of here please.

Sony knows what their problems are going to be, but there's not much they can do about them. I can tell you have a lot of faith in Sony and that's fine, but numbers are numbers. 60 fps isn't good enough for ideal VR experiences. Passable maybe, but not ideal. That's all I've been saying. This is about hardware performance, not software quality. Even if every Morpheus game is locked at 60 fps, it still won't be completely ideal. That means that some people who're more susceptible to VR sickness(myself and possibly you included) may be affected in a negative way. The comfort level is on a curve that gets better and better as the fps increases. Morpheus will always be operating at the bottom of this curve.
I'm actually a computer idiot. I don't know squat about PCs. I bought the Rift because it's a dream come true as I'm a huge gamer and love seeing technology being pushed forward. I figured it out pretty easily though and that was with no help and using a developer kit that wasn't intended for me. The retail version of the Rift will be even more streamlined and user friendly. Plug and play. Don't underestimate people these days. Computers are a way of life now. Most people can figure this stuff out pretty easily. If they can operate an Ipod and figure out itunes, they can operate a Rift. The real barrier for casual players is going to be the cost of a PC to run the Rift material properly.
Suffer was an appropriate word IMO. Try not to take this personally.
I too hope that these do well in the market and think Sony can make a good product. It remains to be seen how well this new medium will do, but I remain optimistic. I hope your faith is warranted and you're happy with the Morpheus when it launches. You've put a lot of time in defending something you haven't tried yet hehe.

I'm saying facts. Whether or not you choose to believe them is up to you.
Konami isn't a Sony company.
Naughty Dog is great, but there's no guarantee they'll make Morpheus games. Even if they do, they won't have an fps higher than 60.
Not for you, but for Sony? You worried that I hurt this giant corporations feelings by saying that?
You do know that Joel and Ellie aren't real, right?
