Hi All, My Oculus Rift is constantly plugged in. The thought of having to pack it away all the time and then drag it all back out was not appealing at all. The problem comes from the software that just refuses to close. It takes multiple attempts to shut down the Oculus desktop. It closes then reopens, then I close it and well you get the idea. Most times it takes at least 3-4 attempts before it finally shuts off.
Yes I know I can go and disable the service, but why should that be required. So just wondering if anyone else suffers like this, or if someone has worked out a solution that doesn't involve having to manually terminate services etc.
I did create a shortcut that stopped and started the services for me... saved me going into services scrolling down and hitting stop... I think it won't close because steam is running, but thats a non-proven assumption.
I just reinstalled the Oculus software from scratch, the full 6Gb download, then it did a secondary update (small) when it was done and it's stopped happening. Touch wood it was just a corrupt file or glitch in the initial install. It has only been installed for a few weeks though, so who knows.
Just confirmed it also closes fine with Steam running. The small update may have been a patch to fix the bug. I know it never installed like that the first time.
