sorry for caps lock but the situations is out of control.

I'm reading the comments of the Contractors VR discord community, the games is on sale right now + free weekend and A LOT of Oculus users are refounding the game with bad reviews and complaining about poor optimisation when this is untrue: THE PROBLEM IS THE LATEST OCULUS FIRMWARE IT'S BROKEN!

the games developers around the VR scene are gonna probalby gonna loose credibility and money because of the latest oculus firmware but this is only a small problem compared to what may come the next days.

IT'S CHRISTMAS. PEOPLE WHO ARE GOING TO TEST VR FOR THE FIRST TIME WITH A BROKEN FIRMWARE MAY REFOUND AND GIVE BAD REVIEWS ON AMAZON FOR OCULUS.

Please fix the firmware before the 24 of this month.

p.s.

my config is

Oculus S (yes I have firmware problems that force games to run unders 80fps, so ASW is kicking in a lot)
CPU i7 5820k, 32gb ram, GPU gtx 1070

notice that people are trying to figure it out what is going on with many posts on Reddit Oculus. a lot of people asking for help.

Sorry mate I did not mean to belittle your issues and I hope they get resolved soon.

Of course you have already connected Oculus support and sent them your log files right?

Come on Tom, no need to be rude. There are a fair number of people experiencing performance problems at the moment.
Those of us with working systems should be patient, things may break for us next (it currently seems like every second update breaks my Rift-S cameras. I have no performance problems on Rift-S or CV1, but if I put the Rift-S right now, I bet the tracking will be dead until I unplug/plug it).

It's indeed a strange problem - if it's firmware related, then probably all Rift-S hmds should be affected, and that does not seem to be the case (there are too few complaints on Reddit). CV1 got no firmware update, still many CV1s are affected - and many are not. I guess it's a tough nut to crack - finding out which specific hardware or software combinations that might cause the problem. Personally giving users the possibility to go back to 1.43 would be the nice gesture here.

It's certainly bad if users start to blame devs for unoptimized coding - the intelligent user may be aware that the problem (when it happens) isn't restricted to just one game or app, but after visiting BigScreen Cinema and having ill-mannered kids trying to contact me and generously showering me with popcorn I'm starting to believe the OP's concern is legit.
