Thoughts on 3D printing a stand for the Rift DK

I've gotten more experience with my 3D printer and I was considering how to make a stand for the Rift. I've got a 10"x8"x8" build area, so it would be something that could be done in a single print without having to piece things together. I'd probably want to go with ABS plastic just to avoid the warping at the bottom.

The main design goal would be to hold the rift with the display up (to prevent dust accumulation). I'm considering a lower compartment to hold the electronics.

Has anyone else given much thought to what a stand for the Rift would look like or what features might be desirable?

I haven't put that much thought into it but from looking at it the most direct way to design a stand would be with a "fork" holder similar to an elongated guitar stand, that hooks under the outside square part of the visor. You'd have to be careful about the wire that plugs into the rift though, as it could potentially cause wear and tear around the connection.

Personally I just leave it hooked up, but turn it off, and put it inside the carrying case with the lid down but not latched. Not as elegant by any means but it works.

I think all you need is a mannequin head. Like those in salons.
