I placed an order for a GTX 970 last week, the order stated a 2 day ship date. I did a live chat with them today for a status and they said it has an ETA of 10/31. No where on the page do I see out of stock or back order and when you place the order it says it will be shipped in 2 days. I've been looking a lot for a 970 and every site is "out of stock" I thought I got lucky...

kinda bummed

Has it been over a month? maybe you could send it back? Is it evga? they have the upgrade program. Hope you can work it out, I just had my 970 delivered a couple hours ago. upgraded from 670. I booted up Elite Dangerous and it's smooth as silk judder free now. I'm loving it.

Ill have to check.... it is the evga, whats this upgrade program?

If it's with EVGA they have a step up program. I've used it before with earlier cards. You send them the card, and a set amount of money and they will send you whatever one you stepped up to. It's handled well and is actually one of the reasons I switched to exclusively buying EVGA video cards after taking advantage of the program in the past.

Just looked on their forums for details. Search for STEP UP.

They have 4 versions of the 970. The standard, the super clocked, the SSC (super superclocked... Yeah goofy name), and the FTW.

I have the ssc and have been happy with it. Their step up program is pretty liberal though. When I ordered my SSC they hadn't yet released the FTW. But they just added the FTW to the SSC step up so they are even allowing people to step up within the 970 line as well.

One great thing about all the cards in the 9 series is they have fairly minimal power draw compared to earlier cards.

Did you register the card when you got it at least? You can still do so on their website now to qualify for the step up. All it requires is the serial number.
