Today is the day: My VR Library is Complete

This is a post for other "completionists" out there.

Like many of you, I've had my Rift since Launch, April 2016. My approach to VR Technology is very much one that can be best described as: Embracing the evolutionary process. So when I had an XBox controller, Remote, and a single Sensor... I had no problem staying busy with all the software at that time which took advantage of that setup. This included personal favorites such as:

Tehcnoust, Lucky's Tale, Farlands, Dead Secret, Crystal Rift, Darknet, Albino Lullaby, Chronos, Edge of Nowhere, Blazerush, Eve Valkyrie, The Climb, Into The Dead, Please Don't Touch Anything, Hitman GO VR, ioMoon, Fated, Goat Mountain Goat, Defense Grid 2, Subnautica.

I have a strong completionist attitude in most things, not just gaming. But of course, when it does come to gaming... if I get halfway through a game then I just have to complete it. Even if I must put it aside for a year and come back later. Not finishing it nags at my subconscious! I simply need to see things through to the end once I've committed.
(Side note: This is also why I have such a ridiculously high post count. When I commit to a debate, I have to see it through to the end; even if it takes 20 pages.)

When the Oculus Touch came out in December 2016, I made sure to wrap up my Gamepad/Remote library in order to prepare for the Two-Sensor w/ Handcontrollers setup that was en-route.

Ever since then, my Library has grown but never felt complete. I knew I was missing out on experiences such as Arizona Sunshine. But I'm also quite patient (embracing an evolution process is a slow thaang).

Most of the games at the time Oculus Touch was launched were front-facing Standing/Sitting experiences, such as: The Unspoken, Dead & Buried, and VR Sports Challenge. Between Oculus Home and SteamVR, I really didn't have much need for a full 360 experience since everything I was enjoying didn't require 360 room-scale. (e.g., Call of the Starseed on SteamVR).

When it comes to a 360-roomscale setup with the Rift... the additional Oculus Sensor has been available for a year (if not longer), but I didn't even bother getting it until this past March. I could have bought it at any time; but being a completionist I felt compelled to wait as I continued playing so many other titles that didn't require more than 2 sensors:

Nevermind, Obduction, Xing, Call of the Starseed, Esper, Landfall, Battle Zone, Robinson The Journey, Wilson's Heart, Arktika.1, The Invisible Hours, Rez Infinite, Mervils, Theseus, Archangel, Batman Arkham VR, Robo Recall, Witchblood, VR Invaders, The Unspoken, Dead & Buried.

When I finally decided to get my 3rd sensor, I noticed that I'm just about ready to get all caught up on my Library. Between March and the beginning of this Month (May), I knocked out:
Sprint Vector, Serious Sam VR The Last Hope, Orbus VR, Lone Echo, Killling Floor Incursion, Archangel, The Mage's Tale, From Other Suns, In Death, Beat Saber, SkyrimVR.

Some games are ongoing, such as Sprint Vector and Skyrim VR; which doesn't really play in to the "completionist" attitude. A few weeks ago I bought Raw Data, which brought me one step closer to completing my VR Library. And now today I finally bought the last game on my Pending List: Arizona Sunshine.

It's on sale for $20USD on OH (and Steam as well). And that's it! I know there's other titles that people have recommended that I don't have (e.g. Vanishing Realms, Onward), but not all titles interest me. I may get them at some point, but currently there is no other VR Title that I'm "waiting to buy."

This completionist feels complete.

Anyway, I just felt like sharing. Cheers!

Arizona Sunshine is pretty good. Just see if you can find a co-op partner, as the game is really made to play 2 player.

Never played with somebody else, spent a while sitting there waiting for another player but no luck.

Hopefully the new DLC will increase the current playerbase. I need to try to organize something this weekend for anyone who is down for zombie smashing.

I have a whacky sleep schedule, and I actually work with some folks who reside in the UK so I'm a bit used to the timezone difference. Quite a few people on this forum are from that part of the world as well. It'll be fun to see who is up for some multiplayer killin.

Wow, your wife must be a saint. I can't imagine where you find the time.

To be fair, I spend a lot of time on games that can't be completed like Project Cars 2, IL-2, Elite Dangerous, Fallout 4 VR, etc. Most VR games are pretty short so I guess maybe I would get through many if I didn't play these endless games.

What are your top 5 games so far?
