Tried gear vr for the first time, my goodness!

I have never tried vr before, not even cardboard, but I have been a faithful follower for years. Today I went to best buy to preorder 2 s7 edges for my wife and I to score the bundle. We were both due for upgrades, and I've been wanting to jump back on the Samsung band wagon so this deal was right up my ally. I took care of both orders and made sure that we would receive both gear vr's and 2 64 gig memory sticks. I asked if they had a demo setup and they said yes and I walked over to the kiosk. Putting this thing on was a scary experience. I had wondered If I would be disappointed because I have been waiting so long, but Holy crap guys, once I sat in the theatre mode I was blown away. This was legit 3D, like I could reach out and grab something. The walls felt far away, and the lighting and shadows bouncing off the seats around me looked so real. Now there was quite a bit of screen door and pixelation but if I wasn't in a best buy with a dirty strapless gear vr on my face I'm pretty sure I would have been way more immersed. This was a mere 3 minutes of not even playing a game, and I was blown away. Soon I'll have 2 of these in my own home and in may I'll have an even more accurate model (rift) in my possession to play some real games! I am so pumped guys! Sorry, I had to gush haha, I'm stuck at work on my phone and I'm just freaking out about the quickest little vr experience. And the best part? Million 's of people not even Interested in vr are about to poo their pants when they get their new s7. The world is about to wake up and social experiences and interactions via the Internet are going to change forever 🙂

Sounds awesome. The Gear VR demo in the Sydney city Samsung store is disappointing - not because I've tried it, because every time I walk in to try it they say the phone is charging!

Haha! yeah thats definitely a bummer, you would think they would have a few phones precharged to swap out of the demo unit :/. cant wait till the 11th!

It's nice to hear about positive retail demo experiences as it can be pretty hit or miss at some locations, so thanks for sharing! 🙂

My only experience of VR (so far!) is a google cardboard, albeit a fairly good one, with my HTC one M8.

Is gear VR a lot better? I'm due an upgrade to my phone next month, so am tempted to go with the S7, specially if gear is worth having.

I've only tried the S6 version of Gear VR and hopefully it's not me but I could't not get it into picture perfect focus, the image always looked a bit blurred. Have anyone tried both versions?

S6 and Consumer edition put quite tight on your face and make sure it is right down on your nose.

Anyone tried Sony Z5 Premium (4K screen) with Google cardboard type HMD? I've heard you still can see pixelation, although it's miles better than DK2.
DK2 sold Rift - preordered, shipment estimate March 28. cancelled. MSI X99A RAIDER, i7-5820K + Corsair H110i GTX, Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 64 GB (4x16GB Quad Channel), AMD Radeon R9 Fury X, SSD RAID0 (2x256GB Sata3 A-Data SX900), OCZ ZX 850W 80+
