Aww man I really feel for you, I've had no end of problems in London with these sorts of things, it seems to be the British way these days. I got lucky and mine came when it said it would and the guy buzzed the door.
"In the future we will be designing dreams, worlds & experiences rather than games."
That sucks man, UPS is absolutely terrible here aswell. Most of the time they dont even try an initial delivery at my place and instead just leave a sticker saying no one was around.
I've had many boxes of hardware left sitting on my doorstep, in the rain, in the snow. Doesnt matter to them since they already got the fee.
It would be great to have an option for the courier when it comes to shipping because UPS is not worth dealing with
I feel for you, man. UPS rang my doorbell once, dropped the package to the steps and started to walk away as I was opening the door. They don't give a shit about the package after that first doorbell ring.
Definitely notify OVR support directly. I'm not sure about UPS procedures specifically, but it's usually up to the sender to claim for any loss, not the recipient. In other words OVR should send you out another one, then claim the value back on the UPS insurance. Since you didn't actually pay for the postage directly (OVR charged you, but they paid UPS for it), the party that has the insurance cover is OVR, not you.
I'm also surprised no signature was required. I can't remember if my delivery guy asked for a signature... I was only half awake at the time and wasn't expecting it, as I didn't get a shipping confirmation until the day after it arrived.
BTW, surprising fact I learned with my UPS delivery:
So I waited at the day of delivery and intercepted the Truck at first sight. This is because they always drive in the wrong road, which actually is a bit of our own fault, because our address touches two roads, and while it is registered at one of them, the actual entrance is in the other one
I told the driver its not his fault, because all navigation devices would lead him to the wrong road where our entrance normally would be.
And guess what he says: Yeah sorry, I don't have a GPS, I looked at the street signs. Me: What? Doesn't UPS provide you with one? How are you supposed to know all the different addresses? He: Well I have a private one for when I get completely stuck, but I don't use it all the time. Okay sign here... and whooosh gone he was. 😮
I certainly didn't expect this... is it normal that they don't get a GPS (Germany here) :?:
Sorry to hear that. It's a shame when a package goes MIA, especially a package you've been biting your fingernails over in anticipation. I don't ever have a problem with packages. I've ordered so much, that I know all delivery drivers (USPS, UPS, Fedex air/ground) by name. Not only that, I have a huge yard completely fenced in, and i'm usually at my comp, which faces the front window.
Hope all of this gets resolved and promptly for ya 😞
Ticket logged with Oculus... Checked all obvious places and no sign of it.. Asked my neighbours and no one even saw a UPs van today.
I am more annoyed with UPSs attitude. They basically blame OR as they give permission to leave the parcel in a safe place. But i explained that a "mailbox" is hardly safe. They didn't even offer to speak to the driver to see if he remembered the delivery. But they refused and told me to contact the sender!
I find it amazing that UPS are handling high value parcels and yet dont get signatures when they deliver...
I just have to hope that OR can get UPS to ask the driver where he put it and/or send me a replacement ASAP.
