UPS Have lost my DK2

Was surprised to get a shipping note yesturday (UK) and it was out for delivery today.

Got home to find no parcel... But then I went to the UPS site and it showed delivered at 11:54 to "Mailbox"

I rang them and thats all they can tell me.. "THe shipper gives us permission to leave the parcel outside" and they claim its in the mailbox.

Funny thing is, in the UK we don't have "mailboxes" so she said he probably put it through the letter box.. Which is about 8" wide.

Great.. So they have either lost my parcel, or left it on the door step and someone has nicked it..

What now? How do I notify OR of the loss? And more importantly, do I have to join the back of the queue again?

I think it is the responsibility of the sender to take up with UPS and maybe you can put a Paypal dispute as well as lodge a formal complaint with UPS ?

Sure do hope you get either a refund or replacement and UPS should be the ones liable as they were contracted to deliver it and they didn't.

Good luck mate 😉

This is odd. When UPS came to me yesterday, I asked him if he needed me to sign for it, he said: "yes, of course". FYI, I am from Germany.

OVR needs to decide if they will argue with UPS over the cost of the item, or if they expect you to claim from UPS. This probably takes time.

I can't claim.. I have no contract with UPS.. In fact they won't even talk to me about it... They tell me that its the sellers responsibility to resolve thsi.

And in truth, they are right.. This may be a "Protoype", but they are still a retailer and therefore bound by the "Sale Of Goods" act.

They need to sort me out as the purchaser as they have my money and I do not have the goods.. And then resolve the matter of the lost package with their courier..

I am more dismayed that its now Tuesday and they still havn't said anything... I realise that there has been a weekend in the way, but I am £300 and would expect something from them.

BTW, surprising fact I learned with my UPS delivery:

So I waited at the day of delivery and intercepted the Truck at first sight. This is because they always drive in the wrong road, which actually is a bit of our own fault, because our address touches two roads, and while it is registered at one of them, the actual entrance is in the other one

I told the driver its not his fault, because all navigation devices would lead him to the wrong road where our entrance normally would be.

And guess what he says: Yeah sorry, I don't have a GPS, I looked at the street signs.
Me: What? Doesn't UPS provide you with one? How are you supposed to know all the different addresses?
He: Well I have a private one for when I get completely stuck, but I don't use it all the time. Okay sign here... and whooosh gone he was. 😮

I certainly didn't expect this... is it normal that they don't get a GPS (Germany here) :?:

Apparently they don't use them in Canada either.
Yesterday the tracking said "street address incorrect, delivery may be delayed". I called right away - the address WAS correct, just the driver couldn't find the place. It's right there on google maps, where it has been for 14 years!
The good news is they are holding it at the depot for me to pick up, so I don't have to worry.
Good luck to the OP with your replacement - hopefully OVR will get it out to you quickly.

btw, UPS will leave it on the doorstep here as well, unless it is COD or duty fees owing (as is the case with the rift). I will have to pay an additional $58 when I pick it up.

Wait you gotta pick it up and pay $58 because their driver was incompetent?

The other thing to do is make a police report

This is actually correct. If you've checked your property thoroughly and spoken to all your neighbours, it looks like a crime has been committed.

The first thing I would do is talk to UPS about this - let them know you're going to contact the police, and why (the parcel appears to have been stolen). It may get things moving. If not, ring the local police station (not an emergency number!) and report what's happened. You're totally entitled to do so.

I once had a parcel go missing. I actually forget which company it was. After making various enquiries the driver actually drove to my house and threatened me. I reported that too. I don't know what the eventual outcome was, but I got a replacement package no trouble.

That is odd he spoke english, I would have expected him to say something like "Ja, sicher mein pumpernickel"

The fact is he can say that but if you weren't in he would have urinated on it and thrown it in next door's garden

Best idea I've seen so far.
