Ubisoft moves to the next level of immersive entertainment, announcing 'FAR CRY VR : Dive Into Insanity' - coming to the Zero Latency VR platform in a ground breaking partnership for the #LBE #VR industry. AAA content now looks to LBE VR as a new business opportunity.

Yet most people would have wanted a home version of this. Thanks Ubisoft. Great timing as well for this sort of thing during a worldwide Covid-19 Pandemic.

System Specs: ASUS NVIDIA RTX 3090 TUF GAMING OC 24GB , i9 9900K CPU, 16 GB DDR 4 RAM, Win 10 64 Bit OS.

Who said there would not be a VR version afterwards? Cant you have a LBE first and then a consumer version later?

Pretty impressive.
Surely they will eventually expand that to PC-VR.

Yes @dburne, its how things use to work, the commercial version opens the door, and then building on popularity, a consumer version is created. There is no way current consumer VR could achieve the levels being achieved by the LBE VR version so we have a window for the Enterprise version to make money before Ubisoft get a second bite with the consumer version of the LBE VR experience (proven business model).

Looks cool. Everyone is just in one big room and all the equipment seems achievable at home. I'll be interested in learning what this offers that can't be achieved at home; as nothing from the video seems out-of-reach for at-home-VR.

Ubisoft already has a fun line-up of at-home-VR, with Transference being one of my favorites:

It's nice to see them expanding their portfolio. Hopefully this LBE version will serve as a good Test Bed for bringing Far Cry VR to home-based-VR sooner rather than later. That way we can get a full version with the 15-30 hours of gameplay that is more achievable at-home as opposed to a VR Facility.

Overall, this seems like good news for the VR Industry as a whole. Although I have to agree with ShadowMask, in that the timing (a global pandemic) is a bit off. And depending on how strongly someone feels about Quarantine and Social Distancing as a safe practice, this type of environment will probably appear unsafe. Hopefully the pandemic ends sooner rather than later as well!

If Zuckerberg doesn't announce this being on its way next week then Ubisoft will be receiving the obligatory turd in a box via first class delivery. ???

That looks good.

Tbh I think it's the home rather than the game that could drive LBE for a lot of people. I wish I had a larger play space for some of my games, they're crying out for it.

The vast majority of the time I'd probably still want to sit down for extended play sessions, but now and then I'd like to have maybe 1 hour sessions of proper roaming around and I just don't have the space.

I'd probably only want to do LBE with people I know though and that's a bit of a task to arrange, but it does look fun.

Intel 5820K OC@4Ghz, Titan X (Maxwell), 32GB Corsair Vengeance DDR4, ASRock X99 Taichi, Samsung 500Gb 960 Evo M.2, Corsair H100i v2 Cooler, Inateck KTU3FR-4P USB 3 card, Windows 10 Pro v21H2 (19044.2075)

Yes, have done this experience a number times and playing with a group you know makes all the difference.

I am surprised that some have posted on other forms that this can be done on home system. I know of no eight player High-end PC, haptic weapon based shooters on the consumer systems. Trying to ignore the differences is missing the point of what this offers. But with some 42 locations internationally a lot more people will be getting their chance in 2021 to try this for themselves.

I wonder in Facbook Horizon if there will be a mod that will allow you to send that directly in VR - or if that kind of humor will be able to find a home in this brand new world! 🙂

Kevin, no need to sound so defensive, however as you are aware the rules from Monday are 6 people max. I spot more than that in the video. So they will need to reduce numbers.
