This is getting ridiculous especially for those of us with slower DSL connections. A 10gb update ? it will take me all day to download that !!! How about patches of a similar nature instead

u guys got my curious..http://www.theclimbgame.com/blog/free-expansion-and-oculus-touch-support-live-now
It looks pretty awesome that this happened..welldone to them for making this free and not going the DLC route.
I also posted a comment to support the idea of free 😄

"we made some technical adjustments relating to the 1:1 mapping of hands in the game. For instance, you're able to reach right onto objects as you climb, but when you're jumping, we disabled that function after we found that people were colliding with rock surfaces"

I was miffed at the size of the update and no changelog, either here, on their forum, or clicking the version number in Oculus Home. Just lazy devs.

The size is apparently because the Crytek engine has a small number of very big files, so a tiny change might end up being whole gigabytes in size. Which sounds like a poor design decision in today's era of frequent patches and updates to software given that it takes some people about 10 hours to download 10GB.

YESSSSSSSS!  This annoyed me a lot - great to see them fix it.

That was in the initial Touch patch, so if you ever played with Touch outside of trade shows, it included that.

I tried and when jumping I always traspased the rocks, so its nice they add a collider to the rocks.

Dang.. their "fix" doesn't cut it then. Happened a lot last time I played (with Touch) a couple of days ago.

I'm just going by their patch notes, the part you quoted was from the huge December 3 Touch patch. There are no patch notes for last night's patch yet.
