In 2022 David Paiva showed a home made tech demo called TouchPoint, which he used to play light gun games. He showed it off in the arcadecontrols forum and on YouTube. Then the project became dormant.
Since yesterday the project is now publicly accessible and people and download and try themselves!
Just start the app on the Quest 2 and then place it on the desk. The to-be-controlled PC connects either wirelessly or via USB. It receives the tracking information of HMD and Touch controller and projects the trajectory of the Touch to a computer monitor.
To make it abundantly clear: It's a demo. But its great fun and I was amazed how well it works already 😃
Woah, this is actually so cool! Thanks for sharing @Boojakascha. While I don't usually play any shooting games (my aim is terrible), I find the tech behind this so interesting. Also, I definitely know some friends who would love to get this set up and try it out!
