Using a powered hub with sensor and hmd - Your experiences and has it solved disconnect issues

HI because my sensor issues have returned and now I have hmd disconnects both very random but annoying, would using a powered hub help.

Shout out to anybody who is using a powered hub for both sensor and hmd, has it helped and if possible what hub are you using, powered, usb3 or usb2. Also if you have a link to what you use.

Be great to know so I can stand on the shoulders of those who have already experimented. Really appreciate how this community helps patient vr adopters in these early days of consumer teething issues.

I use a powered Inateck PCI USB 3.0 hub but still get the disconnect sound : Someone suggested replacing the Inateck drivers with Microsoft drivers to get rid of the problem.

Thing is it just doesn't bother me that much : If it did I'd either dig down to solve the problem (turn off USB power saving, buy another USB hub...), or at least I would remove the default Windows sound for USB disconnects.

It would be annoying if the problem extends to the Touch controllers, and if a replacement USB hub I purchased to solve the problem today, did not also solve the problem for those Touch controllers (and their extra webcam(s) ) tomorrow.  So for now I'm not doing (or buying) anything new until Touch comes out.

I brought the inatech card but returned because I knew it would not solve the disconnect issues.

I beginning to feel an external USB hub ( not an internal PCI card) powered might help. Hoping others who have tried it will let us know if it helped.

Try to go to Device Manager, Oculus VR Devices, Rift Sensor, Properties, Power Management tab, uncheck "allow computer to turn off this device".

I was having frequent disconnects and reconnects when the Rift was not in use and this was the issue, Windows was randomly shutting the rift off for power savings. Who knows, might work for the OP.
