V72 Meta quest pro controllers will not install firmware update on quest 3, stuck at 0%

So I’ve tried all the methods of trying to get these things to update for about a week now and nothings come from it.

from factory resetting the controller over and over and again,

pairing and un-pairing the controllers consecutively on the meta horizon app,

restarting the headset,

shutting down the headset for long periods of time,

making sure the headset and controllers were completely charged

enabled developer mode and PTC (public test channel) cause I heard rumors of that being a fix and still did absolutely nothing.
i even tried the last resort option and factory resetting my headset. Still no fix.
I can pair the controllers just fine when starting my oculus after factory resetting but immediately gets bricked due to the controller firmware update being stuck at 0%

I would like to know if this is being looked at and maybe if there’s a fix coming for this issue.
I’ve looked at recent reviews from places like Amazon and there’s a line of people having the same exact issue as me..

@TooKloudy  do you know anyone with a quest pro? Some users have found that linking stuck controllers with a pro allows them to update and then they can be re-paired with your quest 3

This is correct in my case. I bought a set of Pro controllers about two weeks ago and they would not update once I paired them with my Q3, The only way I was able to get them to update was to charge and fire up my Quest Pro, update it to the current OS and then the firmware updated right away.

Does this mean that every time the Touch Pro controller needs a firmware update, I have to find someone who has a Quest Pro headset?

That sounds stupid.

Why do they list these controllers as compatible with the Quest 2 and 3 ?

@m4RKo  I know, it sounds crazy, and you wouldn't think that a company that wants to be the centre of the metaverse would push an update that borks hardware, but this forum just not big enough to list all of the examples of them doing it. In fact this forum is  mostly examples of them doing it.

Hopefully, they issue an update which fixes the problem, but how can you get the update fix if the controllers are stuck on updating?

Same problem here, but quest 2 with pro controllers. And the meta support is not really helping figuring out why it doesn't work. I guess they don't know, and it's up to some firmware developer at meta to figure this out.

I'm trying to figure out if i can upload firmware manually with some developer tool. But then I need to find the firmware also. 😞

I don't think so. In the past, they updated just fine. There were all kinds of issues with a recent update that was pulled back so it's likely that a piece of coding in the Pro controller update neglected to allow for Q2 and Q3 headsets to pull and apply the update. I'm sure they'll fix it. Pro controllers are an expensive purchase and this really should be a break/fix situation that gets immediate attention.
