A treadmill probably won't help for sim sickness. Your feet may be moving, but your vestibular sense is still not feeling the acceleration that your eyes are seeing.

This sounds great, I would love to use something like this to walk around in Ethan Carter. Hopefully, it would stop me feeling as sick.

In real life if we run walk in a constant speed, there is no more acceleration, but we (vestibular system) still moving up and down and it seems to enough to eliminate motion sickness... VR treadmill provide this up and down movement while walking or running. So there is hope to move Naturally through virtual space in the future.
VR treadmill technology will evolve and maybe one day we will create an affordable virtual magic floor that will not require to be strapping around hips as any vr treadmill does today ! Can't wait for this day

Except for oscillating vertical acceleration IRL, acceleration doesn't affect motion sickness with me. For me, the orientation of my head needs to change with the changes in orientation in VR (rotational changes). Translation doesn't affect me (forward-back, side motion). So, a treadmill type device (or a swivel chair) would be great for me. Oddly enough, seeing a photo of a place I know well facing a direction that doesn't match the real life orientation can be disorienting for me (though, it has never caused any motion sickness 😛 which is good since I really like photos).

does not look stable with such a small base. Is it bolted down?
