VRCover delayed?

Hey guys, I ordered a VR cover way back on April 23. They said it would ship by the 10th of May but it has not. I was wondering if anyone else had theirs delayed in this way? I've written their support about it but no response yet. Just curious basically.

Ordered April 25th and it shipped yesterday. I would share my impressions with you as soon as it arrives, but it seems that my Rift will arrive in 1 month at the earliest, if not even 2 months.
So I won't be a big help in your decision whether to buy or not to buy haha 😛

God dammit! Just got a letter saying that I have to cough up an ADDITIONAL $40 bucks in import tax + handling fees. That's more than double what the product itself cost..  if I don't pay up they'll just return the package.

Considering how disappointed many are, I'm pretty tempted to do just that...  😞

@Widt, wow that's a heck of a lot of additional cash

They are pretty disappointing - at least the CV1 version I have.  I am working on an alternative now with a several improvements. Hopefully I'll have something cool to show you guys soon.

I find I'm not bothering to put my cover on. I was hoping for a tighter all-round fit instead of really just being held on at the upper sides, maybe with elasticated stitching.... I'm not keen on the way the bottom ends up resting on my nose.

At the same time, I've gotten used to the harder foam on the CV1 so it doesn't feel uncomfortable anymore... oh well!

Yeah Mine is definitely more comfortable without the cover on. The material is all bunched up in various places so it feels lumpy and uncomfortable. The fabric doesn't really offer any cushioning so there doesn't seem to be much point in having it on. My girlfriend was absolutely horrified that I had paid for them lol. I hate to be negative because they're obviously not a huge company but I'm surprised they let these go. I hope they develop something better.

I think 3D printed faceplates are the way to go. I would love to have the tech to scan peoples faces and create proper custom fitted pads.

Having experience with 3D-printing ( both home-printing and more expensive prints from 3rd parties), I can tell you it really isn't the way to go. 3D-printed materials are very hard, and the surface finish will remain very rough unless you use one of the higher end printers, of which the prints are prohibitively expensive for most consumers. This means the prints will cause irritation even if it precisely follows the shape of your head. The material also doesn't allow for ventilation the way foam does, which means you'll get sweaty more quickly, and the material will "stick" to your forehead more easily, which is annoying.

Even if you scan someone's face and customize the shape, the properties of the material will guarantee that a custom printed facepad still will be more uncomfortable than a non-customized foam facepad.

Ontopic again: a few hours ago I received confirmation that mine has shipped as well.

DAMN!!!! I just logged in to cancel my order and it is showing as shipped... no email confirmation however.

if i get that kind of customs charge i will reject it.  hopefully i wont however as it seems to be coming from Germany. (I am in England)

The whole thing sounds like a massive dissapointment which isa shame as the dk2 version was so good.  IF they ever improve the design maybe they will ship out all V1 customers with 1 of the fixed ones?
Fiat Coupe, gone. 350Z gone. Dirty nappies, no sleep & practical transport incoming. Thank goodness for VR 🙂

@bigmike20vt, I'm UK too and no customs charge

I have not long since ordered mine 1 for CV1 and 1 leather one for Vive. Very tempted to cancel now after reading these negatives reviews.
