Vive Not Attending E3?

Doesn't look like Vivie\Valve is going to be at E3? I mean I suppose they just had a successful reveal so you don't have to show up at every expo. But E3 even though it has shrunk is still one of the biggest gaming expos, even if it is more focused on actual games than technology.

I'm sure the Vive will be there with devs demoing their content, but I don't know if Valve has any presence at E3.

Just checked with the E3 expo exhibitor list, not even HTC is scheduled. Odd.

If HTC-Vive are not present at E3... it probably means they won't make it to their scheduled launch on time.

I don't think not showing up at E3 necessarily means they're having development issues. Valve is a big enough gaming entity that they can release news at any point and journalists will pay attention. Not that I wouldn't like them to make an appearance, but the lack of the E3 spotlight isn't going to keep their announcements from being picked up by all of the relevant news outlets.

That makes two of us. 😞
Not a Rift fanboi. Not a Vive fanboi. I'm a VR fanboi. Get it straight.

To not show a finalized product just three to four months before product launch is not evidence of Development issues?

Seriously??

Agreed. E3 isn't the mandatory event it use to be either. Valve/HTC can save the money and make headlines whenever they want.

Non-issue. It is customary for Valve not to attend.

If the expected release date is sometime in November that would be closer to 5 months. I would get a bit worried if they didn't release the final price and specs by around September, but I also think there is an argument to be made for making that announcement closer to the launch than E3. Waiting until the E3 hype slows down also allows them to avoid their announcement getting overshadowed by what ends up getting shown at E3.
