Vive owners waiting for Rift

Are you keeping your Rift preorder?  I am a day 1 Rift preorder and was going to try both and sell the lesser of the 2.  I've had my Vive a few days now...and its freaking amazing and I love it.  Would you guys keep the Rift in my position?   $300-$400 markup on EBay which isn't earth shattering so perhaps not even worth the trouble.

Please only chime in if you own Vive and also Rift.

I'm keeping my preorder for the moment. I'll probably use the Rift for seated games, and the Vive for standing (and the Omni, if it ever turns up).

One of the annoying things about getting my Vive early is that many of the games I want to play (e.g. Elite) either don't work on the Vive yet, or need a lot of performance tuning.

I've kept my Rift preorder since receiving my Vive. I don't get involved in 'fanboy wars'. I buy all consoles and don't see why VR should be any different, don't like missing out on any gaming experiences, yes it's costly but necessary!

I'm keeping my pre order Rift. I have my Vive set up in a room dedicated to room space, but plan on using the Rift for the more seated experiences in a different room.

I have both in route to me, but I will chime in if thats cool.

In my opinion I would keep both, especially with the touch coming out, then you can properly weigh which is better for you.

This is more of an investment into your decision for Gen 2 in my opinion, there is nothing wrong with buying both Gen 1's and then when gen 2 comes around picking the company you liked better.

I would love to hear about your Vive experiences since you are waiting on the Rift still.

I only have Vive, but IMO, if you afford to keep both, do so. When Touch is finally released, you can decide at that point which is your favourite.

i'm going to flip my rift.  I don't want to do business with a company who doesn't give a crap about me.  Use the money I make to pay off the vive.

Yeah, I don't ever want to do business with Mazda again; so I will buy all their cars and re-sell them. Hooray for @blue-steel logic

Interesting thread. I'm pretty sure that over 80% of the Vive owners who remain on the Oculus forum will keep their Rift orders. The other 20% will pretend to keep their Rift orders just to remain active members here lol

I have both and will keep both.  I use the Rift for all my seated VR and the Vive for room-scale and the more active VR.  The Vive is made of really durable plastic so it should hold up to the massive amount of sweat I been throwing at it.  The Rift always feels super comfy after playing a bunch of Vive apps.  Eventually I will get my backup PC upgraded so I can have a PC for both and switching between the two will be very easy.

Ive had my Vive a couple of days and not exactly been blown away with it, mainly due to lack of content and my setup is 2.4m x 2m (roughly) but to me its not big enough for room scale as a couple of steps in any direction brings up the chaperone wall. Will probably keep both, at least until I have a good play about with both.
