Vive this...Vive That....The painful wait for touch controllers....

Seems like every other day another fun game gets released for the vive because of it's controllers - are all the game producers holding back on releasing games until Oculus finally releases theirs?? Yes we have been seeing a few games here and there - just can't wait until we get some actual "Interactive" games to come our way. Yes i'm being pissy 🙂 I have got to the point of maybe playing my rift once a week because nothing really "Exciting" has come out that interests me.

Yeah it's unfortunate and the timing is really, REALLY, bad.

But everywhere I look, whenever a dev posts something to do with the touch they always say that Touch is much more ergonomic than the Vive Wands and as such, the immersion is about twice as good.

I don't think you're being pissy, I'm right there with you, it's been over a year and no release date. I'm a very patient dude so hopefully come October's Conn3ct event Oculus will announce pre-orders. If I don't have two in my hot little hands before 1/1/2017 I'll really be pissed lol , there's nothing we can do now but shell out more cash for a Vive or go find a buddy with one to try out.. ha ha

What specific Vive games do you want to play?

With all the 'non touch' content and games currently available for Oculus, if you are saying you are already bored with that, or already done everything of interest to you - I seriously worry for you that when touch finally arrives, you will be again bored a month later.

Not having a vive, I don't yet know if motion controllers will be sooo amazing that the entire experience is transformed and its sooo much better that suddenly every new little game is going to hold our interest and imagination for hours and hours...

I saw in another thread someone concerned about VR and a separation of the headset and the controllers and concerned that controllers are being seen as more important than the headset.

I kind of disagree as VR is Virtual reality, no one reaches out in the real reality using a control pad.

The headset AND the motion controller IS making VR, so each is part of the experience and therefore as important as the other.  If lots of vive owners are saying how great motion controllers are, and lots of rift users cant wait for Touch.... I'm inclined to believe them that motion controllers are going to be really important for VR.. or 'presence / immersion' whatever its called.

I'm going to reserve judgement on that till I experience it... but right now I can wait as the xbox controller is fine for me and there is loads of unexplored content for me still.

I may backtrack on my opinion later, but I imagine myself still going back to playing Eve using the controller, even after Touch arrives and am done playing with a bow and arrow, climbing, or indeed sculpting a Jessica Alba.

A very short time ago it was "Revive" this and "Revive" that... cause it's these non-motion-control specific games that are still all the rage. In fact, let's convince Palmer to "accidentally" do a hardware check again, preventing Revive from working, and we'll see just how important tracked controller gaming really is >:)

Pool Nation looks awesome, just Beer Pong VR yesterday.... Can't wait for touch controls! Oculus Medium looks great as well.

The delay in getting touch controllers is a fiasco. It was supposed to be Q2. Still not even a pre-order or any confirmed date.

If by "fiasco" you mean, "something that is taking time to perfect while smart gamers continue to wait for the arrival of tracked controller software that's worth more than 30 minutes of monotonous immersion activities," then yeah... sheit is craycray.

Right now the only thing that gets my attention with tracked controllers is Vanishing Realms. But with the number of Touch titles coming out when the Touch launches, I will likely never play it.

Yeah, I just don't get it. With FB money behind it, it's just infuriating that the Oculus people are just sitting there, letting Vive take over the market. Makes me pull my hair out in frustration waiting for the Rift to do SOMEthing... ANYthing... But no... They're letting it die for a lack of some stupid controllers that they seem incapable of releasing before it's too late. Man... Just total incompetence... Man I wish I had done my homework before sinking 7 bills into this stupid company....
