@Zenbane - Sometimes companies are able to state compatibility going forward. Oculus themselves stated that DK2, would be compatible with future software update for the time being.
I hope CV2 is released in 2020 then I have had a good investment. I wouldn't moan if it was released in 2018 though 🙂

I like to spend wisely too, but if you need confirmation that an unreleased first gen device is guarnateed to work with the completely unannounced second gen platform, then you might wanna wait until Virtual Reality has been around for 5 years.
Unless I missed something, then the best guess people have made is that the CV2 will arrive in 2019 (some 3 years from now),

Well, I'm gonna miss you @lovethis; see you in 2020. Bye bye now 😛

Firstly, you really need to stop jumping on people/comments all over this board just because they aren't quite as brown nosing of oculus as you are. People are being realistic,

As for CV2 in 2019? LMAO, Oculus will be dead in the water if they leave it that long. Are you just saying this to get people to buy CV1?

@Zenbane We all know Oculus would be dead in the water if it wasn't for FaceBucks cash injection/investment. Oculus would have run dry long ago.
As for Touch they are throwing money around like confetti to stop Devs releasing games on Vive. They are literally buying themselves out of a hole. If not for FB deep pockets Vive owners would be playing games like the climb RIGHT NOW using motion controller and any suggestion of using control pad would of been laughed off this forum - ok maybe not this forum.

You need 4 sensors to get a precise room and touch tracking.

This Touch controller is so over hyped. As soon as Leap motion gets proper Vive/Oculus integration hand gestures via a controller is going to be outdated very quickly.
Leap Motion is a fun toy specially with Orion but way too many downsides to beat touch/wands.
It can only track on a narrow range, where touch controllers can be used even if you/(leap sensor) don't see them. Lacking any traditional buttons you are limited the way you play, gestures only go so far and the finger tracking isn't that perfect meaning its only good for more casual experiences (blocks demo)
Leap was cheap so I don't regret buying it or testing future games/applications but for using it as a primary VR controller... no. I would be interested in using it as an secondary controller for flight sims etc.
