In line with several of my posts I purchased a 980 in October and discovered that not only does it not include the advertised VRdirect with the DK2 but it effectively bricks the DK2. While having the DK2 software installed I got random bluescreens sighting the DK2 driver as the issue. Since I have seen neither an official post from Oculus or anything from Nvidia I refuse to develop for the platform. When indictments are handed out for fraud (false advertising) and everything else that could shake out, I refuse to be the last man standing without a chair when the music stops. Also, for lack of support Skyzone has developed a native solution for 3D fpv which does everything I planned to do and allows you to watch 3d on their goggles (fat shark's too) without the BS 5 year development process oculus has been on.
So, I hope to be able to at least use my DK 2 for the secondary purpose I got it for. Has anyone run the updated VorpX and gotten it to run with common games without it crashing their system?

If this has been fixed, quietly, please let me know. I tried again tonight and my computer turned into a crash omatic. This lead to my frustration above.
NO this is not an Oculus issue as far as my frustration but an NVidia issue. There are a half a dozen videos from Nvidia explaining how well the Oculus works with their cards and how VR direct is awesome. Yet it is not there and after multiple contacts with NVidia I have not gotten an answer.
I have also gotten a response from Oculus ALREADY in reference to one of my frustrated comments. Seems like they are willing to help on their end. I will fire everything up again tomorrow (if time allows) and provide all the info I can. I will also try the latest firmwares on EVERYTHING imaginable. even my mouse, and see if there is a solution.
-I repeat I am frustrated with NVIDIA and their failure to work with Oculus to provide what they said was included!

Glad my livelihood was not resting on development!
vorpX runs exactly the same as it did with my DK1. My 980 changed nothing. So you're saying you get "random" BSOD for no reason? Are you running anything?
@kogashuko something must be broken in your system. What OS are you running?
I run win8.1 with a gtx980 (purchased christmas 2014). Everything runs fine, every DK2 demo, not one BSOD. But i dont run VorpX, maybe this is the prob?

Do any of you all run triple monitors while not running your DK2?
I think for whatever reason the oculus driver doesn't like me doing this. When I uninstall the runtime it works fine. I am still messing with some stuff. However, Nvidia surround is fully supported in the NVidia drivers and oculus is not. I am not willing to give up 3 monitors so I can screw around with the oculus from time to time. I havnt gotten rid of my 680 so I might slap it into an old case with 4 banger amd cpu. Then again I shouldn't have to go through all of that trouble if the runtime will not play nice. This isn't sell the hardware and break people's systems.
I completely removed the runtime and everything worked fine. I deleted my old download and downloaded the latest runtime. I installed it. If that doesn't break stuff I will slowly start adding the hardware back in like reconnecting stuff.
