Wait a minute... I was thinking about the show "Beyond Tomorrow"... Now I need to look up to see who stole the show from whom...

Beyond Tomorrow is an Australian television series produced by Beyond Television Productions. It began airing in 1981 as Towards 2000, then in 1985 was renamed Beyond 2000, a name the show kept until its cancellation in 1999. It then started airing again in 2005 with the name Beyond Tomorrow

Crikey.

Dazza, relax! The sky isn't falling down 🙂 Civilization will continue to exist, despite your perceived threats

Lots of civilizations have fallen. Mayan, Incan, Sumatran, Roman, Byzantine, Ottoman, Soviet, Old China, some Eastern European states, and som Latin American states.

Civilization will continue, yes, but civilization, oh it's the same word.

Who here thinks the 1950's were the peak of American civilized culture?

Not to be a troll... But only to comment that, in a multi-faceted entity, each facet proceeds at varied pace, and indeed some facets deteriorate. While many things have advanced, yes, can one not help but to be nostalgic for the things that have dramatically declined.

And yes... I see the things that have declined and the things that are declining as threatening to the entire civilization.

Ahh yes, the glorious 1950's when every nation on earth besides America had their manufacturing capacity ground into dust.

It's amazing how successful a nation can be when they write the rules everyone plays by, and are the only ones with the resources to play.

I loved it back then - every time you had to do a demo or a TV presentation you were asked by the corporation that was using your VR hardware to remove your logo off the HMD and computers so they could claim it as their own R&D.

"...the NEC Ski Simulator..." Yeah right, that was a VPL HMD and a Graphics engine supplied by some US corp., but suddenly its NEC developed!
