If my facebook account is shut down for any reason, I wouldn't be able to use the Oculus Quest 2? That doesn't make any sense! I don't see why it would ever happen to me but if for some reason it does, I can still use it as a PCVR with steam, right?

If you "link" your accounts, then yes, technically you have 2 accounts. That's how I operate right now. I can log in to this forum using my original Oculus credentials for "Zenbane" or I can simply log in to Facebook and then auto-log in to this forum. However, this dual account option will end after 2023 when the Oculus accounts are removed entirely.

I could be wrong, but I think the current account linking option will end next month. At that point, if we don't merge our Oculus accounts into our Facebook accounts, we’ll be left with just the Oculus account with no social features.

Moot point for me, because I’ve ordered a Quest 2, so I’ll have to use my Facebook account for that. If I don’t merge my Oculus account, I won’t be able to install my library of Quest apps.

DK2, CV1, Go, Quest, Quest 2, Quest 3.

I also intend to merge when I receive my Quest 2 later next month.  Will my current payment methods (PayPal) and 4 digit confirmation code carry over?  Hopefully Oculus Facebook will spell this out a bit more clearly before then, including how to separate VR from my general Facebook subs.  All a tad confusing to me right now.
