If they make a newer model do people who already own a rift get it for free by trading in the rift?

I just purchased a PlayStation 4. Rumour has it that PlayStation 5 might not be that far away. Will I get a PlayStation 5, if I trade it for my PlayStation 4, I wish. The short answer is no you won't, but what makes you think you would? I'm just curious to know that's all.

Nothing I have ever purchased allows me to trade what I have in for a newer model. Well I tell a lie actually, I usually get a small amount of money for my old mobile phone against a new mobile phone & contract.

Why would you want do that anyway? From everything we've seen about Rift S so far it appears to be a cheaper, downgraded version.

The Rift S will have better lenses and higher resolution screens. How is that a downgrade exactly?

OK, correction then, sidegrade. Marginally better resolution at the cost of inferior inside-out tracking.

Let's wait and see how Oculus does with inside-out tracking before we decide it's inferior. WMR inside-out tracking is not great, but Oculus has four cameras instead of two, and they're pushed out to the corners instead of facing forward from the middle of the face plate.

I've tried this several times with cars and my wife.  It didn't work for them and i don't think it will work with the Rift.

I think you've hit on great idea, why don't we have a section of the forum dedicated to swapping unwanted partners cars erm hardware.
