Whats the point of handle attachments?

crazycracker

I wanted to get some handle attachments for games that use swords but I don't understand how they would be viable. You can't access the controller's buttons so how would you grip the weapon without it being annoying having to go back and forth from the handle to the controller? Some are being advertised as usable in games like Blade and Sorcery but that doesn't seem right.  Is there something I am missing?

I know you can use it for games like Kayak VR, golfing, Beat Saber but is that it?

@crazycracker  you don't state what headset you have, but are you talking about something like this, where the buttons can still be used.

Hi @crazycracker 🙂

If you mean attachments that make your controllers longer - like a sword or golf club - then you are not missing anything.

I assume you mean something like that.

I agree with you...

In games where you have to use the controllers as a sword but also for movement - like Blade and socery - they are absolutely useless and pointless.

I'm talking about something like this and I'm unsure if it matters but I have a quest 3.

It's weird because they have blade and sorcery in their description but I don't understand how that's even allowed. From my understanding I have to remove them and put them back on in between gameplay because you don't always use a sword and how you need to press buttons. I was also wondering if its the same with gun attachments because if you aren't using a gun in that moment of gameplay do you have take it apart until you are using a gun again lol

Yeah it makes your controllers longer and you can't reach buttons/trigger anymore.

I think, using them for kayaking feels great, but.....

.... I wouldn't t even like them in beat saber, because you constantly have to switch to the controllers to select the next song.... seems not very convenient to me.

Just my opinion.

😂 I never used those attachments....it really sounds weird.

Maybe someone who uses these things will jump in here to tell us how it works.

@crazycracker  @Choleni  perhaps this is more what you're after. Sword grappleness and button pushingly.

That is probably the best one I've seen so far but I don't like the idea of "extra work" in removing the extra components if I was in a situation where I need to have them separated.

@crazycracker  if you have the controller knuckle straps like the guy in the video the controllers will stay with your hands. Some people put lanyards on the stock tube so it dangles where you need it if you have to get into so swashbuckling in a hurry.
