When is the new SDK for DK2 coming out?

I know its four months until we actually get out hands on the thing, but I wanted to know how close Oculus are to releasing the SDK, so that we can start rebuilding our Demos?

Good question.

From the GDC presentation slide on RoadToVR(http://www.roadtovr.com/gdc-2014-oculus-session-working-latest-oculus-rift-hardware-software-live-bl...) they state that within a week or so from today there will be a preview:
"14:28 by Ben Lang
Talking about the Oculus SDK 0.3. Will support DK1 and DK2. Preview coming within two weeks. New c interface; recompile will be necessary"
From looking at the slides looks like the latency will be much better in the new SDK and the new distortion configuration looks much simpler.

I'm excited about this - may be easier to do some things than using the rather complex C++ (for what it does).

Of course, most(?) people just use an existing game engine - will be interesting to see how long it takes for the new SDK/library to make its way into the different engines.

Unreal 4 probably already has it internally, since that is what they made their new demo with and the engine source is available.

Maybe Unity has been sitting on a whole bunch of new VR improvements under the hood and is just waiting to surprise us all, but I wouldn't count on it. It won't be possible to implement the new and improved GPU timing via script.

Custom implementations like LFS can do it very easily, in fact it will simplify their code.

No pre-existing game engine here. Built from the ground up, and not using C or C++ — using pascal just to make life more difficult. 😛 LOL
