Cyber, I feel like you're trying to tell us something but can you be more specific?
But seriously, recent tweet by Palmer is a bit of a bummer:
"Shipping update: Kickstarter Rifts will start arriving Mon, pre-orders start shipping mid-week (likely Wed) and will arrive this week too."

Just got an email saying my order has been processed and to look out for a tracking info email soon. Order history shows "Shipped." Kickstarter backer ~84xx IIRC.

Encouraging! I've just seen a similar post (also a Kickstarter) on Reddit, so that's two so far... unless you're the same guy of course 🙂

The thing that blows my mind is the fact that Oculus hasn't charged anyone yet. You'd think they would want to get the cleared payment a few days before shipping at least (if not a week or 2). That way, if there are a bunch of insufficient funds it won't hold up the shipping process and they can create a shipping queue that includes fully paid customers. It seems like they are creating their shipping queue without having the funds and therefore it seems like moving people up from a later queue becomes more difficult when the need arises. They're acting as if all of these pre-orders are going to successfully pay.

That worries me too. If they really have got tens of thousands of Rifts ready to roll out, it'd surely be better to start taking payment sooner rather than later. I'm starting to suspect that they're not going to charge anyone until Wednesday and then units are going to start to trickle, rather than flood out.
