Which GTX 1080 are you using

So I'm getting ready to order a new GPU once tax return hits my bank account.  I have been scouring newegg for two days now trying to decide which GTX1080 to purchase.  It seems all of the EVGA models are having this overheating issue and I hear they will start shipping with the updated bios and thermal pads added to the problem areas but also some reviews say the cards basically collapse under stress and heat over 60.

MSI 1080 looks decent, but customer support isn't quite as easy with them.  I'm pretty torn here.  ZOTAC 1080 has the most power apparently but also the highest failure rate.

I got the MSI 1080 X GAMING.  I'm a huge fan of MSI hardware.  Hadn't let me down yet.

I have been running an EVGA GTX 1080 FTW since late July, and even have it overclocked. It has been performing great for me to date.

I have the EVGA SC. The problems were more with the FTW version, which was burning out some of the power regulation components. I ordered the thermal pad kit and installed it, but I've had no trouble with this card.

So it may be a safe bet I could go with either MSI or EVGA?  The whole burnout thing on the EVGA cards scare me, they even had the info on the web page about it.

I have been a fan of EVGA and have used both their vid cards and motherboards for many years. I think the whole issue with their 1080 FTW was somewhat overblown, however any new cards ordered now have the thermal pads already installed. I game a lot with mine and it is overclocked to 2.1 GHZ, my GPU temp stays in the low to mid 60's C, and it has performed great for me - and it does not have the thermal pads.
I also have the advanced RMA option with it so I know I am covered in any case.

I will note I do use Afterburner with a custom fan curve when I am gaming with it.

If I could afford a 1080 I would go for the Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1080 Xtreme  But as a stay at home dad looking after an Autistic son I will stick with my 980 for the now
