I'm just wondering if these headsets are steam compatible because if not there won't be any games for them. I have to admit I do like the design of this one.
It only says "Game Support: Android Games", with a "Moon OS" as the OS. I would be weary of purchasing these "All-in-one" packages, especially if they're asking for 750 pounds(?) for a headset that can only play Cellphone VR games.
P.S. the screen resolution of 1080p and 60hz is well below what 750 should be buying as well.
Given that every single product shot appears to be a carefully composited CG render, it doesn't even look like there's much guarantee the thing actually exists. Looks like a half-baked VR cash-grab at best. I don't suppose it'd do anything that a GearVR or Cardboard can't already.
Yep, it's only 1920x1080 per screen. 4K is extremely deceptive marketing. Edit: in fact the official page for it doesn't mention 4K anywhere. http://www.royole.com/moon It's just other websites that are saying 4K.
From what I can see (reading various reviews and the official specs (the gearbest page has errors, such as saying 600mAh battery when it's 6000)), this isn't VR. It's a personal cinema. It shows you an 800 inch screen at 20m. There's no head tracking.
You can play PC games on it, it will show any hdmi feed, but it's just going to look like a huge (but only 1080p and 60Hz) monitor floating in front of you.
The storage and battery (and probably processing) is a separate box that connects to the hmd by a usb c cable.
Apparently the sound and video quality is great. But it's made for watching movies, not VR.
