Having preordered DK2 in april so obvoiusly im not expecting to get it anytime soon. With that sad thought in my mind i was just aimlessly browsing the web when i came across amazing deal for DK1 and i snatched it straight away. Today for the first time in my life i tried the Rift. God, i just need to get this out of my chest so sorry for otherwise completely useless post.

I didnt expect it to be that good. Tried about every possible demo available on the net and i just cant get enough. My dreams came true. THANK YOU PALMER, JOHN AND ALL IN THE OVR TEAM! Cant even imagine just how much better DK2 will be

I know exactly what you mean, I had the same feeling about the Oculus Rift when I used mine for the first time about a year ago. The DK1 is a cracking experience, even a year down the line .
yeh, try playing Hawken at that res...its sickly...like horrible and you cant....had to take of the eye cups to even adjust settings and get the game started. Having said that, should be much better with dk2.

The problem with the human condition is that we are never satisfied and quickly take things for granted. When I first tried the Rift it was incredible, I hadnt seen anything like it in my life and its easy to forget that. The OP felt what we felt last year and even the DK2 or CV1 may not deliver that level of wonder for us again.
Good to hear something positive from a new poster instead of the usual whining or doom and gloom about VR being 'meh'. Nice story and makes me even more excited for DK2. 😄

Usual? I've only heard a few posts like that in all my time here and I've been here since the beginning. You must be confusing these forums with something else. 😛

Actually, Hawken was one of the best experiences in the rift when tuned right, you just needed to oversample the resolution to 200% and do a bunch of tweaks, but well worth it Can't get it to load in VR mode anymore though, waiting for my DK2 to do a full windows reinstall and try again

I meant recently, most new posters are full of pessimism, not when DK1 first came out! From the suspected 'fake' accounts set up to take pot shots at Oculus. 8-)
I too have been here since march 2013 and yes things used to be mostly positive from new posters talking about their experience.
