Who will be the first to die in the Rift?

With so many scary games coming out on the Rift it will only be a matter of time before someone has the shit scared out of them and they end up dead. Dread halls gave me legitimate fear, almost an unwanted presence. :smile: What do you guys think?

That's not even a good question.  "Literally" now also means figuratively.

Well, in this particular case my curiosity is literally killing me.

Im sorry but my english isnt good enough to answer your question, let me google this up.

Ah i see, learned something new today ! 🙂

Yes i just meant it figuratively, what a word, i dont know why but the terror felt so real, but i think its because i was able to gauge the distance to objects so perfectly thanks to the  stereoscopic 3D.

I had to stop playing, never happened before, im so hyped for the CV1 to arrive.

@DaftnDirect Oh yes please...

well, i think there has been 2 or 3 kids who died for an MMO (not sure if warcraft, but is probable) soo, having someone dead with a HMD on the face is probably going to happen

This or the first child that is neglected and dies because their parents are too "busy" playing with their VR HMD and wands.

Edit:
Been waiting for my CV! so I can finally play Alien: Isolation for the first time.

Seriously though, the more real danger here is probably things that people will miss while 'in VR'.  Your eyes and ears are completely occupied... it is very easy to miss things happening in the environment around you.  The house could be burning, or children could be crying etc and you would have no idea (unless it was something you could smell).  That is probably the bigger risk with VR.

I think this is the main reasonwhy Oculus is seated experience, since is sold a "seated" if you do room scale and hurt yourself (or worst) youcan't sue them, since you are using it for something is not built for...
The vive on the other hand...

The first time the Alien dropped down from the roof and bolted at me in Alien: Isolation I had to clean up after myself.
Pro Tip: don't own a White desk chair and a Rift.

Most likely someone in China. They are really good about video game deaths.

Isn't there some idiotic warning that comes with the Google Cardboard app 'not to drive while wearing a VR headset'? Still tickles me.
