Why aren't Posts Dated?

Am I missing something or are all the posts not labelled with a date posted? I see they show the time of day. But no dates. When I read a post, I don't know whether it was last hour, last month or last year. 

Maybe we can start date stamping our posts?

Or am I looking in the wrong area?

I just did notice, some are dated, most are not. What's up with that?

They are.  If it's from today it shows the time.  If older than today it shows the date.

Also, if you mouse over the timestamp, it will show both time and date.
