I feel this is a valid question why is the oculus 1 basically useless since some updates I understand some games aren't compatible but games that were once playable on my oculus seemed to have become useless. I already have another oculus but is my backup useless at this point?

While I retired my Q1 late last year, most older standalone games continued to work ok.  Those newer ones or older ones that got big updates didn’t work though.

A little googling would tell you that most Q1 users now only use it with PCVR using a link cable and/or wireless with Virtual Desktop.

@ASteelWaffle  because they can. And they want you to buy an expensive new headset.
