Pre-orders for Australia and NZ have had no new pre-order shipping for five weeks. Yeah there was the clearing of the "Customs" blockage, but that hardly new shipping notices; that's just fixing old ones. People in Europe, Canada and the US at the one hour mark are getting their Rift shipping and yet we're still stuck at the 6 minute mark. And all the while our dollar drops against the US which makes the price of the Rift go up, up, up!!!
Got my CV1 today. Took 50min to get the damn xbox wireless adapter to work. So far no flaws or problems (the unexpected kind like dead pixels, broken things, etc). But crepuscular (god) rays were definitely visible and annoying.
Ok bitches, Canberra here, I didn't stay up to pre order the CV1 at 4.00ish in the morning, but ordered it around 2.30 the following day when I got home from work. guess what !!! got email today that's it's on the way. So I was around 10 hours after the main rush happened and it's happening now for me as it's on the way 🙂 I have just started 3 weeks worth of holidays, timing lmao 🙂
I'm a xx34xx (+6.5 hrs) in the Sydney Metro area. Received my processing mail on the 3rd and my CC was charged. Estimate was previously for 20th-30th of June. I'm now keeping a close eye out for the shipping message.
An observation on exchange rates - My CC was charged for just on $900AUD. Based on the exchange rate that night, that looks to be just about the exact conversion. For me to be charged so close to the exchange rate I would assume that the bank/CC has not charged any conversion fees or Oculus themselves are doing the conversion calculation and charging directly in AUD.
Check on FedEx online to track it, mine is current at my local fedex place and due to be dropped off on Friday 10/6, have rung today (Monday 6/6) waiting on reply so I can drive out and pick it up.
