I was a 24 minute order and a xxx28xxx order number, and my deliery has been pushed back to 5/16-5/26...  Luckily I also ordered a Vive on April 1st when the Rift delay rumours started going around, and that should also show up sometime in May...

I'd be tempted to just keep the Vive, except that it's actually ~$460 more expensive than the Rift up here ($849 v.s. $1309.67)  asssuming we aren't getting charged additional taxes etc on the Rift shipments?

Hello All,

I am from Calgary, AB and I can confirm that the rift is on its way.   Its currently on the UPS truck out for delivery, so I expect it by end of day today.

I ordered within the first minute and thirty seconds of the store coming up,.

1 CAD = 0.72 USD
$599 Rift = $849 CAD ($611.28 USD)

Apr 12
1 CAD = 0.77 USD
$599 Rift = $849 CAD ($653.73 USD)

Price would be down below $780 CAD if they offered current-rate conversion.  That would be an even nicer way to say sorry for all the delays 🙂  It would also save us $5 more than the free shipping does.

I know it's not going to happen.  People have already been charged $849.

My rift came today but I wasn't home.  I'll go pick it up tomorrow.  It doesn't look like HTC likes us Canadians either.  I don't see many Canadian orders getting fulfilled.  Now if Oculus sent me a pair of touch controllers to develop with, I wouldn't be worrying about my Vive.

I picked up my Rift yesterday from the UPS store.  I only had to sign and show my ID.  No fees of any kind including taxes.  Maybe UPS will send something in the mail but when they deliver to my door, I always have to pay upfront.

The upside to this is you pay no taxes or anything else. $849 is the total price to your hands. Compare this to the total price of the HTC Vive into Canadian hands ($1309)... $460 more!
