Will VR mean the death of offices?

Hi guys,

Will VR mean the death of offices where cities won't have office buildings because people can use VR to collaborate in Virtual rooms or will VR be unable to substitute for actual human interaction?

Cheers:)

Pandemics have a higher chance of killing offices than VR.

On the one hand, this pandemic is breathing life into remote work solutions, including VR. On the other hand, until Hand Tracking is further along and supported by more VR platforms I don't think it'll "replace" doing the job in person. And there's probably some things that you can't really do remotely.

On the third hand, VR does open up some amazing opportunities. In May I attended a gaming convention, on Mars. I've gone to a live concert without ever leaving my home. I've met new friends and bonded over a shared love of Doctor Who, and got to experience what it's like to live and work on the International Space Station. And that's just in the last 3 months. What will I have seen and done a year from now? I don't know, but it's exciting.
Lo, a quest! I seek the threads of my future in the seeds of the past.
