XReal marketing is ridiculous and frustrating

Honestly not really sure where to put this because technically not VR but where else can I discusse HMD'S

I see click bait youtube videos that say 130", etc, and since most of these people got them for free I can't take their experience as a whole (except for the Phawx, but he just brushed passed the actual screen related stuff because he's right, you can't accurately show the experience on camera)

It's 1080p, and while I primarily use 1080p monitors anyways, 130" 1080p sounds horrible and pixelated.

Also, I saw a video where a guy mapped it out and it came out to be the same as 21" at 2 feet away (so that's 130" a whole room away basically) That's just not impressive even slightly for the price tag they're asking. 21" 1080p sounds much better and more realistic, but for the price of the glasses and the beam, it's kind of meh

Anyone have any experience with them personally? Am I just being overly skeptical or am I right to feel the marketing is hogwash?

Headset media viewers have used that "it's like a ___ screen at ___ away" stuff for a long time. They like it because they can use any number they feel like, they just set the vergence to make it seem that far away.

The number that matters more is FOV. On the Xreals the FOV is 46, which is quite poor compared to 110 degrees horizontal on a Quest 3. That will determine how big of a screen you can see all at once at any given distance.

46 degrees is equivalent area of your vision as sitting 28 inches back from a 27 inch monitor.
