is the oculus rift dk2 (text) actually readable now?

I remember with the DK1 text was a pain to read, I haven't gotten the chance to read anything with the DK2 yet so I was wondering if it was actually possible to just sit down and read something on the dk2. Usually I browse at reddit on my dk1 and its kinda difficult to read (unless I get up close/zoom in with deskope) but its still do-able. By any chance is it actually readable?

Depends on the program / game. You can read browser text using something like virtual desktop, IF the text is big enough. You can read text in game, IF its big enough. Some games use a font that just hates the DK2, like DCS world in-game. Cant see a thing, but its all fixable. Basically in DK1 you needed a massive font to read it. In DK2, you just need a less massive font.

Like all things, it could bear improving, but its workable.

I thinnk this will become less of an issue once games made primarily for VR take off, as opposed to bolting on VR on top of existing games.

take, Rifts Cave or Titans of space.

the text in both of those is completely readable.

For the most part, with a bit of leaning in or head moving text is readable in most things, but, unless done properly it isnt ideal.

I am hoping elite for instance will eventually have the option to make text have more green in it (more green pixels in the DK2 screen)
Fiat Coupe, gone. 350Z gone. Dirty nappies, no sleep & practical transport incoming. Thank goodness for VR 🙂
