Hello,

I'm currently working on a motion simulator to use together with the Oculus Rift goggles.

One of the major issues the Oculus team faces, trying to give the user the sense of presence, is "motion sickness".

They did an amazing job on the headset to reduce latency, improve the resolution, the head tracking,... . But, because the brain is tricked to believe it is actually in the virtual environment, not feeling the accelerations of the impersonated character in the virtual world causes a loss of balance and may lead to "motion sickness".

This sickness comes from the fact that according to the information the brain picks from the eyes, it expects to feel the motion through the internal ear. This why it can be called "stillness sickness".

Motion Drift will help the user to avoid this sickness by giving the user the feelings that his brain waits for.

You can find more information on this project on:

If you want to get sick , as op suggested, then simply watch a youtube video of a oculus.
Without the live motion tracking, you are seeing the recorded motion tracking of the person who recorded the video.
This disconnect made me sick in about 5 minutes.
