oclus rift vs htc vive

this is for the people that have both I'm only looking for comparison with just the headset. higher frame rates judder ghosting I know the vive uses less resources witch can help but I'm truly looking for a honest opinion just on the projection of the games in the head set and witch one does a better job of doing this. and please explain why I don't have the money for both most don't. my oculus is already up for sale just because I want to try htc for my self but id still like to get some input from others that have. comfort is not important just purely witch gives you the best gaming performance controllers don't count just the video performance is all I want to know

Not entirely sure where you heard that the Vive consumes less resources cause I've been hearing the complete opposite from multiple sources. I do not have both but have read hundreds of comparisons and the general consensus is that the Rift is a bit lighter/more comfortable and has sightly better clarity. But overall the Vive is currently declared the winner due to the Rifts lack of motion controllers which should be arriving this fall/winter.(the Vive also has a taller FOV)

this is why controllers are not in the vs and just from recommended specs it only needs half the ram the oculus needs. that's just one example this is why I'm asking real time users. only thing I can hope is they are given a fair reply. the controllers mean nothing to me

Only the headset?

Oculus Rift:
- more comfortable
- lighter
- clearer text
- integrated headphones

HTC Vive:
- larger FoV
- tighter facial interface to block outside light (Rift has a slight nose gap, but some people like it including me).
- ability to adjust lens distance as well as IPD (Rift only does IPD).
- no integrated headphones (some people prefer this)

There wasn't a single thing, I found better about the vive than the rift (reasons already mentioned), but it might be worth it, if you have a large head or wear glasses.
The vives head straps can be stretched more than the rifts and the headsets "lens-to-face-distance" can be adjusted to give you more space for glasses (while also sacrificing fov).

Performance wise the rift should be better, the OpenVR/SteamVR SDK currently has more bugs and no asynchronous timewarp, which means that you will get "judder" when you're below 90 fps with the vive, while many Rift owners don't even notice when they're below 60 fps.

I think most honest comparisons would deem the HTC Vive a better VR experience due to the roomscale and the input controllers.
For me the CV1 feels like DK2, only more refined. But the Vive feels like what I've been waiting for in VR.

Why cuz...controllers? That will be a moot point in a few more weeks.
I don't see it. It's a ugly headset and the controllers look like wands. And obvious screen door effect...no way it's objectively better.

I notice judder on the rift when below 90fps every time games like project cars and dirt rally under 90fps if you look at spectators as you go by you get double vision ghosting type trees basicly anything not straight ahead maybe I'm a bit more picky about it than others. every update that home does makes it more noticeable for me even on my dk2 witch I destroy the 75 fps on even at 75 fps I get them results on the cv1 it has to be 90fps with some backup in the debug tool for the double vision on the side of the tracks to not be there

the only thing I'm looking for in this topic really is the performance of each

I would guess that the vive has longer wires being it has room scaling
