So... it looks like tomorrow I should FINALLY have my Oculus Rift! I have never owned a DK1, DK2 or even a Virtual Boy. What I'm thinking we need (and excuse me if this already exists) is kind of a guide for people like myself to get started with. What are the Day 1 VR Essentials which everybody with a HMD should check out? A lot of you guys/gals have been messing with this stuff for weeks (or months/years when you count DK1 and 2). What are the coolest things you've seen in VR? What do I absolutely need to see? What are the best free demos/apps which are cool to check out? What are the best pay applications which are actually worth dropping money on? I want to learn from those who came before me. Educate me! (Please)
Ok, thanks. I can't wait to check out Elite: Dangerous in VR. I'm thinking about getting The Climb as well.
Here's a question, I downloaded the Oculus application and I started to install it... but it gets to the point where it's asking to configure my Rift.. can I safely skip that step and get back to it? I'm afraid of ruining something that only triggers once.
The first thing I show everyone now is the spaceship in Farlands - I just put them in and let them walk around and take it in for awhile. It looks so good, maybe not a great idea if your room is super small though - I've got enough space to almost walk to the end of the cable.
