Did you mean:

to buy or not to buy this pax (or wait for the F8)?

"to buy or not to buy"? I'm not sure if to buy oculus bundle during pax
(with the anniversary 50$ credit for games in which I'm not interested
because I can't use the credit to buy a third sensor) or to wait for the
F8 conference (one month) hopig for a price cut (so I can buy a third
sensor with the money that I may save).
what do you suggest me to do? thanks! 😛

Personally I'd buy it now. If you wait until May they MIGHT only cut the price to $349/£349 (but I'm expecting £299/£299 myself). $50 worth of Oculus Store credit is nothing to be sniffed at and if you get it before the Anniversary Sale ends you can spend it on one of the packs that are part of the promotion.

They could certainly AFFORD to drop the sensor price but at the current price it's affordable and they're probably making at least 50% profit on each one sold. They're already selling the headset and controllers at cost and have spent half a billion dollars on funding developers so it's only fair that they make some money SOMEWHERE lol 😛

lol this is probably true. I've waited so long now that I find myself unable to purchase one until I get some kind of promotion because I am cheap :). Aren't they the least advanced tech in the Rift? They are basically just webcams if I recall correctly.

I'm super cheap too. I earn 450 euro circa per year with my work. this summer I had a work so I bought Oculus with the money I had to save. same with my pc I had to wait 1 year before to buy a used gtx 1070. but I love VR so I'm HERE LOVE VRRRRR! XD

Yup. They're basically black and white webcams with filters on. They're probably making more than 50% profit from each one sold tbh.

I ended up getting an extra set of Touch controllers rather than getting the standalone sensor. You don't get a USB extension but I had a couple lying around anyway and got myself a spare set of Touch controllers just in case I smack my original ones to pieces by hitting a wall or door lol

Just made more sense to me.

That's not a bad idea. I've smacked my controllers into the wall/random objects more than a few times! That's actually a bargain at £40 extra for a pair of controllers if you compare it to what console controllers cost. Must be all the margin built into the sensor price :).

all I wish is really find a sale pay 40/50 euro for the third sensor and feel good. a single sensor cost 70 euro here in europe.

Yup, they are IR cameras but also have Bluetooth and antennas inside so they can all connect to the HMD and synchronise.
