Due to a bug, I've been unable to download beta channel updates since 1.15; it just says "An Oculus update has started downloading" every time I open Oculus after quitting it. I've tried repairing the installation. Extremely high quality internet connection and modern rig. There's no evidence it's doing anything based on network tab in process explorer.
I know 1.16 was removed for a period of time -- is it back? Regardless, I was unable to download 1.16 before it was retracted.
Is there a direct download link? I feel like I'm shut out of betas permanently right now 😞
You should be on 1.16 now. It's released to everyone, so you should be able to get it by dropping out of the beta (I don't think there is a current beta going anyway, 1.16 is the latest release).
Thanks for the replies! I had already tried repairing like two weeks ago to no avail. I had tried leaving and rejoining the beta channel repeatedly too. I repaired today and got 1.16 finally.
Here's the thing: It still says it's downloading an update. It isn't, there's no network activity. Definitely a bug.
Would be helpful in 1.17 to tell you WHAT it's downloading, and either show progress or give you a link to the download to open in a browser. It's somewhat annoying to get a notification about updates every time I open Oculus, and I suspect this bug will prevent me from getting the next beta like the last two... 😕
