Well, they do have Google and their mega-fortune on their list. If...IF it came out at that price and with all that tech in the headset(not speaking of the add-ons...just the headset), they could shake up the earth! All they'd have to do next is keep their huge titles/experiences exclusive to the Vive. 😄

EXCLUSIVES!!!!!!!!!!

They're going to sell the headset, the inputs, and the base station all for $300? Really? I don't believe that for a second, but if it were true it's either utterly brilliant or absolutely insane.

Article (well the English vesrion) states an HTC headset for $300. While Vive is made by HTC, nowhere in the article were Valve or Steam mentioned so this may be in addition to.

But I'd like to be wrong.

I can't imagine them wanting to release two competing VR headsets so close together, unless they were planning on releasing something for mobile.

Well, they are deep into competing with Samsung so this is a possible scenario.

Just for the headset. Maybe. But you have to pay for the rest also.

You need the whole set (the HMD, the inputs, and the base station) for anything to function as intended, so I don't see them selling the HMD separately, and if it's not going to be sold separately giving the price for just the HMD makes as much sense as Microsoft releasing the cost of the Xbox One at launch without including the cost of the Kinect.

Sorry, but I doubt they will sale the whole set for 300 bucks.

This rumor could be false, or they could be rolling out a mobile headset that they've yet to announce, but it's a packaged deal, you're not going to be able to just get the HMD, so listing the price for just that makes no sense. I suppose they could release the dev kit unbundled, but I highly doubt it, they're releasing the dev kit in limited numbers and I imagine they want all devs to be able to make full use of the device.
