what will be after VR

when 3dtvs came out I knew vr would come soon, I feel like 3d was a form as vr they both make you feel like your there. I feel like 3d was actually a step toward vr, so what can be more immersive than vr, will vr get to where it's like that vr headset in the movie ready player one, I think used lasers or something, or will they find a way to do vr without a headset, like maybe transferring your consciousness to a pc world, or something like matrix style vr is that the next step.

I have talked about Brain-to-Brain interfaces often:

And I think I recently read that Palmer Crossdresser Quiet also discussed linking the human brain during a recent tech talk. I'm too lazy to Google it right now (plus it bothers me to think that he likes what I like), but I digress...

If you and I can transmit thoughts to each others brains using a computer as a middle-man, then we can wear a VR Headset to literally think the other person in to another reality. You can visualize my happiness, sadness, joy, peace, pain, etc.

So what's next? Scanner Battles!

Still one of the greatest Final Battles scenes in movie history.

Sounds like a young one posting here 😉

Anyway, I hope it ultimately gets to the Star Trek Holodeck before I die.

Yup. Holodeck will be the next big leap and it won't be anytime soon either. I can't see brain implants happening, or even if it DOES happen I don't think there'll be that many people prepared to give them a go. I certainly wouldn't.

I'd much prefer the bioware tech like in Shadowrun. Still organic and possibly immortal.   Only thing is id have to rob some banks to afford ot.
