Still waiting for an explanation on how the already expensive 599$ (525€) translates to 700€ ( even if you consider 21% taxes (if they even claim to be included)) it should still be 635 not 700 I want to know what is happening and why Oculus seems to think we have more money than Americans. If I Idon't get a convincing answer, I'll end up moving to other VR sets even if they are more expensive just because this is just unfair attitude I don't want to promote. So far I own the DK2 who was at a decent price but I still advice everyone I am demo-ing it to not to buy one because of the stupid pricing system.
So after you decide to buy the vive will you do the same thing in their forums. Vive's us price is 799$ and translates to 700€, and you pay a similar amount of extra on the htc too. Close to 1000€ shipped in my country.
Welcome to the world of shipping 😄 But don't let this make you "angry" there are a lot of products that are solid at a higher price over there as well. MS, iphones, video cards, etc are always a bit over price. This is because it takes money to ship products around the world, taxes that your countries require, and demands made by the end customers. For example, one of the reasons a lot of these places charge more is because instead of a 1 year warranty, by law, they have to offer a 2 year warranty instead.
There are post/threads about this already. Please look for them if you feel the taxes and prices is wrong. I already given some examples why you guys have to pay just a bit more ~ but other threads goes into the real taxes and shipping cost. Hope this helps ~ we just don't wanna make anymore shipping threads ^^; I'm sorry.
The only thing that truly annoys me about the price is that i pay a lot more when paying in euro since we don't have it as our main currency in my country. So in reality i pay 993 euros because of the fees we have when exchanging the currency. :unamused:
