Do Meta Avatars 2.0 Legs not IK Move?

ImmersiveMatthew
Adventurer

Do the new Meta Avatars 2.0 not have IK legs? When I look down at my legs, they do not move when I physical move or use smooth locomotion. Using OpenXR as Oculus XR has a headlocked bug and the patch did not fix. I am on these versions: Unity 6000.0.25f1 and the Meta XR All-in-One SDK 69.0.1 with Meta Avatars SDK 31.0.0 and OpenXR Plugin 1.13.0.

Hi @ImmersiveMatthew

Thank you for sharing this with us. We understand that your Meta Avatar 2.0's legs did not move. As you are on the version 31.0, the Meta Avatars SDK is enhanced with advanced body tracking and modularized full-bodied torsos. Please see this article for more details about Meta Avatars SDK.

We understand that you also have the latest version Meta XR All-in-One SDK 69.0 and using Using OpenXR as Oculus XR has a head-locked bug and the patch did not fix. Please submit a bug report here to help us understand the resolve the problem.

We hope this helps address your question and please don't hesitate to contact us for further support or if you have any other queries. Thank you in advance for your understanding and we hope you have a great day!

Thanks for the reply.  I took another look at the Meta Avatars SDK documentation and could not find any info on the legs other than this comment in the bug fixes:

  • Fixed default/custom animation transition in LegsNetworkLoopback scene

It is this very LegsNetworkLoopback scene that I have been testing with.  Out of the box your local avatar is in First person and has no legs at all.  Only the remote RemoteLoopbackAvatars have legs and yes they do move with IK as a mirror to the local avatar.  I should have been clear in my initial post that I am asking about the local avatar legs. I am looking for confirmation that the local avatar can have IK legs, and if so, how to turn them on please.

Hi @ImmersiveMatthew, thank you again for contacting us. However, as we have identified that this appears to be a problem with the Meta developers, we are unable to give you any additional confirmation regarding the local avatar. For all of the official development resources, we advise you to contact the Developer Support Centre

We hope this may help address your question and please don't hesitate to contact us for further support or if you have any other queries. Thank you in advance for your understanding and we hope you have a nice day!
