During testing we experienced progression blockers, crash events that led to data loss such as saved

Hi all,

I've submitted for the second time and I still gotten this feedback. App rejected of course.

"During testing we experienced progression blockers, crash events that led to data loss such as saved games status and downloaded assets.
Login menu, no login credentials provided"

The one thing I don't get is, how is it possible for data loss when user couldn't log in? Data will only be downloaded once user have logged in.

Am I missing something here? Anyone else gotten this feedback before? How did you manage to clear this up? or replicate on your side so that we can fix this?

The rest was just "
We could not continue this test due to a failure or crash in your app." I am guessing because of they couldn't log in.

@vrdaveb require your assistance captain!

I've also open a ticket in Oculus support, didn't get any answer from there.

The first few sentences are boilerplate, it's the last sentence that matters (the one about login details). My guess is that the tester has a form with various reasons for failure, and they check one then fill in the details. The text the developer sees is some standard test failure text followed by the actual reason.

I understand about the login details.

"During testing we experienced progression blockers, crash events that led to data loss such as saved games status and downloaded assets."

This sentence is what worries me.

Like I said, I think it's default text that's added to the report due to the tester selecting the most appropriate item from a list of failure reasons. The lack of login is a blocker so the report has the text for the 'blocker' failure reason. Your best bet is to provide the login details (no idea how you give them that though) and resubmit.

Aah so it's a default text. Thanks a lot for the quick answers. I might just gotten an idea on how I can control the login details without having to resubmit a new build.

After you submit your app, email submissions@oculus.com with test account/pw information they would need to proceed, along with any submission reference information needed to link your email to a submission.

As Fulby mentioned, the last sentence is the specific thing that caused the failure.

Thank you very much for the help @delphinius81 and @Fulby I've emailed to submissions@oculus.com regarding our test accounts. Hopefully they will take the time to review this app as we all know they have tons of submission everyday.

Btw out of curiousity, have you guys every submitted the VR app that requires login before? If you guys did, is emailing them your test accounts will solve this issue or is there another method to provide the test accounts details? We would like to see what are all our options when in comes to this issue. I am pretty sure not only me are facing this issues.

I haven't submitted such an app.

I have not for oculus, but I have done so for the Apple store. In that case, I just provided a test account so that they could access the app and had no issues. Altspace requires an account to do anything in their app, so there is precedent in the VR store for such a thing.

We've got our apps approved! However it's only for private distribution.

"After reviewing your app, we've decided that your submission does not meet the standards to be included in the Oculus Store."

They mention the above though. Was wondering if there are any vr app with a login system in Oculus store. So at least we can see the difference in standards.
