Environment Depth could not be retrieved! Please ensure the following:

Issue: Environment Depth API could not be retrieved. Passthrough is working.

 

Expected behaviour: A cube with with a shader EnvironmentDepth/OcclusionLit should be occluded when placed behing a wall. No console error expected.

 

Specs:

Unity editor version:  2022.3.22f1 BiRP

All in One SDK version:  71.0.0

Windows 11 Home

Meta Quest 3


How to reproduce the issue:

  1. Start a project 2021.3.8f1 BiRP
  2. Upgrade the project to 2022.3.22f1 BiRP
  3. Import All in One SDK 71.0.0
  4. Use buiding block to do environment depth (or do it manually. Make sure to have OVR PassthroughLayer and Environment Depth Manager somewhere in the scene.)
  5. Play on Rift Link

 

Tried trouble shooting:

  • Restarting PC
  • Following the occlusion documentation
  • Check Spatial Data feature is enabled in the Meta Quest Link App
  • No issue with Project Setup Tool
  • Make sure Graphics API is Vulkan
