I bought a system for Touch to move with the stick or by moving your hands. man, i felt motion sickness. With xbox controller same thing. Is it best to implmenet motion through teleportation?
teleportation is safest, "dash" teleport (which isn't instantaneous but rather has an extremely fast transition) is also usually fine and helps maintain user spatial comprehension. All sorts of other methods have been tested and tried. Useful rules of thumb are avoid artificial acceleration, avoid 'smooth turning' with a joystick (instantly ratchet a discrete angle instead). If traditional locomotion must be used, reducing FOV by darkening or otherwise obscuring the edges of the user's view or including stationary points of reference (like a cockpit) can also help mitigate things.
VR motion sickness is also something one can acclimatize to, by using the problematic method until you get the first hints of unease, stopping, taking a break until you are 100% recovered (might be some time) and then trying again, slowly building up your "VR legs". Never try and force through it though, you'll just make it worse.
